Project Overview
My client wanted to launch a new e-commerce platform for selling AI-generated posters—with a twist. Beyond showcasing their products, the website needed to offer a feature where users could upload an image of their wall and build their own personalized gallery wall. The brief called for a Scandinavian-inspired, minimalist design that still stood out with a creative edge.
Problem
To better understand user expectations, I conducted a survey where participants selected the top three aspects they value most in an e-commerce website. The findings were clear:
- 68% prioritized ease of use
- 52% valued design and layout
- 48% focused on product pricing
44% associated minimalistic design with professionalism, yet 60% also appreciated visual elements that added a sense of energy and creativity.
There was a tension between aesthetics and pricing: 56% claimed price was slightly more important than design, yet a striking 96% said that a website’s design directly influenced their willingness to purchase.
This insight revealed the challenge: crafting a clean, user-friendly interface that felt both trustworthy and inspiring. The site needed to be intuitive, calming, and visually engaging—without overwhelming the user.
Result
The final design balances simplicity with identity. A soft palette of beige and green sets a warm and tranquil tone, while deeper green accents add contrast and character—subtly reinforcing the brand. The layout follows usability principles and introduces multiple user pathways to support seamless navigation.
The result? A minimalist, yet memorable e-commerce experience that reflects both the product and the user.
The website is set to launch on April 30, 2025.
