Project Overview
”Skafferiet” is a mobile application designed to help users track their pantry inventory, reduce food waste, and get personalized recipe suggestions based on the ingredients they already have at home. In this project, I’ve had the opportunity to take a concept from idea to design, while also leading a team as project manager. I was commissioned to create a brand-new application and was involved from the earliest stages—defining functionality, building the concept, and shaping the visual identity. As project lead, I’ve acted as the bridge between stakeholders and developers, ensuring a smooth workflow and consistent vision throughout the process.
Problem
The original vision for the app has evolved significantly over time. As both our focus and understanding of user needs grew, so did the product. My skills in UX and UI design have also developed during the project, prompting a complete redesign from the initial concept. We started with a conceptual model to define the app’s purpose, structure, and goals. From there, user research helped shape key decisions, and two personas were created to guide the design process. The project’s iterative nature has allowed for constant improvement and refinement.
Results
”Skafferiet” is currently under development and still evolving. While I can’t share specific visuals or features yet, I can say that the design has matured into a thoughtful and user-centered experience that reflects both the creative vision and technical goals of the project. The next phase involves further developing the idea before launch, with a strong focus on refining the UX to ensure a seamless and engaging user journey.
Stay tuned—more will be revealed soon.
